About us

Eurogrid GmbH (Eurogrid) is an energy company based in Berlin (Germany) that invests in electric utility assets and provides support services to its customers. Eurogrid is indirectly owned and managed by Elia System Operator NV/SA (Elia), the Euronext listed Belgian transmission system operator, and Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW).

The following diagram depicts, in simplified form, the organisational structure of Eurogrid GmbH, its shareholder and 50Hertz and its subsidiaries, including minority participations.

50Hertz

50Hertz is responsible for the operation, maintenance, planning, and expansion of the 380/220 kilovolt transmission grid throughout the northern and eastern part of Germany. Our grid covers an area larger than 109,000 km² and runs a length of approx. 10,000 km – the distance from Berlin to Rio de Janeiro.
