Eurogrid GmbH, headquartered in Berlin, is the parent company of 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, one of Germany’s four transmission system operators. Together, we take responsibility for ensuring a secure, sustainable, and affordable electricity supply while creating the conditions for the success of the energy transition in Germany and Europe. As the Group’s holding and financing company, Eurogrid supports the long-term development of electricity infrastructure. In doing so, we provide the financial and organizational framework for extensive investments in grid expansion, digitalization, and the integration of renewable energy sources. Together, Eurogrid and 50Hertz form a strong platform for implementing one of the largest infrastructure and investment programs in Germany.
50Hertz at the Heart of the Group
At the center of the Eurogrid Group is 50Hertz Transmission GmbH. The company operates the extra-high-voltage transmission grid in northern and eastern Germany and ensures a reliable electricity supply around the clock for approximately 18 million people, including the country’s two largest metropolitan regions, Berlin and Hamburg. Our Contribution to the Energy Transition
The energy transition is transforming the way energy is generated, transmitted, and consumed. As renewable energy capacity continues to grow, the demands placed on electricity grids are increasing significantly. Together with 50Hertz, we play a key role in enabling this transformation.
